Hi
folks! I graduated this spring with a bachelors Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Maryland. In the fall, I’ll will begin my PhD in Mechanical
Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in the Biohybrid and Organic Robotics
Group (B.O.R.G).

I
am deeply passionate about leveraging additive manufacturing and robotics to
democratize public health. During my undergraduate career, I proposed and
co-instructed a new course within the Mechanical Engineering Department —“Additive Manufacturing for Prosthetic Design”—
in which students learn to utilize 3D printing to improve prosthetic design
through lectures and hands-on labs. I also worked in the Medical Robotics &
Equipment Lab on a project to autonomously detected hemorrhages in trauma
patients en route to the hospital
with robot-mediated ultrasound scanning.

In my free time, I enjoy listening to audio books, hiking and mountain biking, as well as 3D printing phantasmagorical creatures I digitally design.

My project is focused on improving the utility of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots. Specifically, I am exploring the use of several imaging modalities (i.e. single beam LIDAR, multi-beam LIDAR and RGB-D camera) to provide enhanced the situational awareness to EOD operators. The goal is to display high density 3D scans of explosive ordnances and environment to promote for easier and safer robotic explosive remediation.
